Dimension Chronicles: God Lore

Birth of Darkness

Darkness looming around in a space filled with nothing small light specks can be found dancing in around the only being that reside in this land. They don’t last long as the darkness quickly dissolves them almost as if it was trying to keep them away just so it could keep the living things in darkness. One of the being was still young he appeared to be around twelve years of age but he hadn’t been around quite that long he just knew that he appeared sometimes ago looking how he did. Short dark brown hair and his eyes were blue. There was another male that was related to the boy he was much older reaching what they would consider an adult age he looked similar to the young boy and even called each other brothers. The last was a female just under the age of the oldest boy and they had even formed a relationship over their years together. Her eyes were gold while her hair was long and light blue in color, she was almost a mother figure to the young boy.

The young boy was laying down as grass and flowers began to grow around him but quickly died out. It was a little confusing on why this happened but maybe it was just because of the darkness that surrounded them. The only thing he was able to make grow was this tree that sat in the middle of their world that he was told that he emerged from. Maybe the magic power in that tree was to strong for anything to happen to it.

“Kudo!” the boy stood up as he heard in name being called, but just laid laid back down as his name continued to be called.

Soon a shadow stood over him arms crossed, Kudo opened on of his eyes and looked at the person standing above him. It was his brother. “What is it Atlas?”

“Been looking for you all day, I was worried.” he answered lowering down to his level and sitting besides him. “Any luck getting your plants to stay alive.”

Kudo shook his head “Not really… but I haven’t really been trying.”

“Why not? You know you have to keep trying you’re going to have to step up and do your part of those other worlds.”

“I know, but if I can’t even get my plants to stay alive here how can I even begin to try for those other worlds?”

“It’s not simple I know.. And I feel that your magic maybe more complicated than mine. I can’t even begin to tell you what you could do in order to fix this issue.” His eyes went down to one of the dead flowers and he picked it up what was left of it falling to pieces. “You just have to keep trying.. For the others that.”

“Others?” Kudo’s eyebrow raised up.

Atlas nodded and gave a smile “Yes, something just tells me that more will be coming soon, and then we can really start to bring life to those other plains.”

“Atlas, why did you create those worlds?” Kudo asked.

His blue eyes looked down at his brother. “I just felt this urge to do so, don’t you feel that urge to just create?”

Kudo sat up his eyes looked heavy and he pulled his knees to his chest. “I just feel like something is missing in order for me to be able to want to. These little balls of light push me but then something just destories the work that I do. There is just a stronger force that is keeping me down.”

The oldest one looked at him concerned, he didn’t have this issue. There wasn’t this force that was telling him not to do something or weakening him in fact he felt like he could do more and he planned to once his energy was back up. He was speechless for a moment. “Don’t worry about it too much I’m sure once Asya and I are finished you’ll get that drive back. Now come on.” Atlus was on his feet and reaching his hand out towards the child, Kudo looked up for a moment and then grabbed his brother’s hand allowing him to be pulled up.

They gave each other a smile and Atlas placed his brother in a headlock messing up Kudos hair as he struggled to get free. Letting go the young boy almost lost his footing but caught himself and fixed his hair while listening to his brother laugh. Kudo smiled back and began to follow his brother towards the tree as Asya was tending to it. She always found it amazing how quickly it appeared and the fact that Kudo was found in the tree.

Asya looked over as she heard the two approaching she enjoyed seeing the two get along they were known for fighting which could happened when you spend so much time together. Just a few days ago they were fighting over how Atlas was working himself to death, causing Kudo to not to want to use his powers and be a little bit more aloof. She tried to understand the feuds but she didn’t have any siblings so it was something that she didn’t have to deal with.

“There you are Kudo!” she ran over to him and embraced him. He had been missing over the past couple of days and Atlas just wanted to give him some space while Asya was forcing him to go out and look.

“I’m fine Asya.” Kudo pushed himself away from her and the lights around them began to get brighter.

Asya eyes grew wide as she watched the lights get brighter, she reached her hand up and caught one in the palm of her and. “Would you look at that. Looks like they’re starting to find they’re pep again.”

“It would see them that way.” Atlas looked at them also it was almost peaceful.

“I’m starting to wonder if they respond to our emotions… I noticed while you and Kudo were fighting they were starting to die out and they’ve been a little weak ever since.”

“Maybe you’re right, As-” Atlas stopped his eyes went blank.

Asya looked at him “Atlas?” he didn’t respond, she started to shake him calling out for him.

At a moment he shook his head his eyes returning to normal. “Sorry, Asya… Kudo. Umm I’m going to go get started on those other areas…”

Asya looked a look of concern came over her face. “I don’t think you should do that, Atlas, you’re still recovering from making those two other areas last week.”

“I’m fine…” he answered and began to walk away almost stumbling.

Asya and Kudo just stood there and watched what had happened? The lights around them were dulling a little but fighting to keep their light. Asya looked down at Kudo and nudged him a little. “How about we work on getting something to eat.” Kudo shooked his head he wasn’t hungry. Besides food wasn’t something that they needed Asya always used her magic that controlled time in order to let the tree bear food but what they got was random.

“What do you think came over my brother?” Kudo asked Asya.

“I have no idea… that was so strange. I just wish he would rest a little bit more.” Asya crossed her arms her eyes going back towards the directions that her lover went. They two had been around the longest she arrived some time after Atlas. She had just appeared before him it was nothing special like when Kudo had arrived. Atlas took care of her until she had woken up and made sure to make her feel welcomed once she had awoken. Asya struggled with her body having a hard time walking and even feeling a bit sick from the start, but Atlas just made sure that everything was okay. It was just the two of them and Asya powers began to grow and she was able to control the passage of time and created a cycle. The two of them developed strong feelings for each other and it wasn’t long after that Kudo had arrived. Asya wasn’t sure how but Atlas just knew that… Kudo was his brother. Atlas always said that it was just a feeling, that he just knew that they were related.

Sometimes she wished she had a siblings who knows maybe she did. Atlas did always say that he knew others would be showing up so maybe one of those would be what she was looking for. If she was alone that didn’t matter because she had Atlas and maybe that was all she needed. After a moment her eyes went to Kudo.

“Why don’t I go check on your brother, you stay here.” She placed her hand on his head before walking forward towards Atlas.

Her eyes looked around for any sight of Atlas but all she could see is the darkness it seemed to get thicker as she walked. What was going on? This was so odd. Where was Atlas.

“Atlas?” she called out her vision fading as she walked. “Where are you?”

She kept walking until she couldn’t see anymore, the feeling of sadness was over taking her. Her body felt heavy she sat on the ground for a moment, what was happening?

“Asya?” a voice called out.

She didn’t answer…

“Asya!” the same voice called.

Still no reply she couldn’t move… she couldn’t talk. What was happening…?

“Asya!” A hand grabbed her and began to drag her out of the black void. It was Kudo he was panting heavily and he looked into her eyes. They were like Atlas’ glazed over and they were almost like they lost all hope. “Asya!”

He slapped her across the face her gaze shifted and the gloss in her eyes began to fade. “K… kudo…?”

“It’s me.” he answered.

“What happened…” she looked at the void before her. “What the hell is that?”

“I don’t know… but you’ve been trapped in there for some time.” Kudo explained.

“What?” the confusion was clear in her voice. “That’s not possible… it only been a few minutes.”

Kudo shook his head. “I’m afraid not. You’ve been gone for about 24 hours. Atlas might be in there.  I haven’t been able to find him.”

What was happening? What was going on. What was this void of darkness that had appeared. Could it be that someone else was trying to come? Maybe the one of them that was in charge of all this darkness. What could she do? She had to go back in and see if there was anyone else.

“I have to go back in there.” she spoke up.

Kudo looked to the black void. “Go back, why would you do that?”

Asya’s body was shaking “I have to see if anyone might in there.”

“Let me go with you.”

“No, you stay here, Atlas wouldn’t forgive me if something happened to you.”

The girl stood to her feet and took one final look into the void before running into it. It was the same as before she could feel her. She was cold and her body was feeling heavy. She had to keep going, she had to look and see. In the distance she could make out a figure all she had to do was get to it. She kept pushing herself she had to reach whoever that was. She was almost there. Placing her hand on the shoulder of the persons he curled their fingers around them. Her mind was racing but she began to pull the person out, she could make out some light in the distance, Kudo was waiting.

The darkness faded and her body finally collapsed Kudo was yelling as he ran up to her. Asya looked over to see who she was dragging. It was Atlas.

“Brother?” Kudo yelled running over to him.

Something was wrong, Atlas looked tired he was breathing heavy. Had he been in there this whole time?

Atlas began to cough he was unable to move, Asya began to cry and held him the best she could. “Kudo… Asya.”

“Atlas what happened?” Asya spoke softly.

He shook his head “I don’t know… I just remember going back to work. I just feel so tired.”

“Just rest you’re going to be okay.” Kudo spoke up.

His brother shook his head “I don’t think so… I think I wasted all my energy.”

That was the one thing that his brother was always on top of Asya and Kudo for. Always telling them not to use their magic so willy nilly.

“Don’t say that…” Asya was tearing up.

Atlas turned his head to face his brother. “I’m sorry little guy, just do me a favor and watch after Asya and the others for me. They’ll be coming soon.”

Kudo didn’t say anything he just nodded… he could hear Asya and Atals’ voice began to fade. What was happening… what was up with that black void? Did that thing make his brother waste what little energy he had left? His eyes were filling up and he slowly saw his brother fade away. This couldn’t be happening… what was going to happen to all his hard work? The space that they lived in? Asya was soon by herself on the ground she was shaking. The world seemed to be holding up and it looked as if Atlas’ hard work wouldn’t be in vain. The girl slowly stood to her feet.

“I’m sorry, Kudo… I just need some time alone.” She stood back to her feet and began to walk away.

Days had passed the young boy was trying to deal with the loss of his brother but was worried about Asya at the same time. He had seen her every so often and she played it off like she was okay but it was possible she was in worst shape that he was. The worlds below were still holding up that was a good sign Atlas was looking after them from where were he was.

Kudo slowly lifted himself back to his feet and began to walk, he wanted to check on Asya. He pushed himself forward and went looking for her near the tree that resided there… and there she was. Something was wrong… something was different. He called out for her but she didn’t answer. He approached the tree and he stopped dead in his tracks, she was there but she was motionless. The girl has hung herself. Tears were flooding his eyes, he kept calling out to her and began to climb the tree. Summoning his weapon he cut the vine that was holding her in place and heard her body make a thumping sound.

“Asya!” he called down before jumping and landing beside her. He carefully picked her up and started to shake her calling her name. His hand went down to her wrist as he was checking for a pulse. There was nothing. Nothing! Why? Why would she do this to herself? They were suppose to stick together… he was suppose to watch out for her.

He sat there in silence holding his friend’s body, tears rolling down his cheeks. What was happening around here? Everyone that he cared about was dying, he was probably next if he didn’t watch himself. He had to watch out for those new people that were coming. Wiping the tears from his eyes he looked back down at her a light began to form around her… a smile was almost coming to his face but then the light with dark. Kudo gently placed her down and backed away a flower began to sprout from her body, the young boy was feeling unsettled. A bud that was large enough to hold a being sprouted from her and slowly began to open. It took a moment but someone began to step out. A boy around Kudo’s age, he had long black hair and his red eyes seemed dark.

Looking down at Kudo he completed stepping out and gave a smirk, “Well, well, you’re still alive I see, and here I thought you would kill yourself like the girl did but it seems like you didn’t hear my words.”

“What are you talking about? You killed Asya?”

“Not directly, but I did give them the push that they needed.” the newcomer spoke, the flower that he came from disappearing taking Asya’s body with it. “I just needed enough sadness and darkness in order to come. They were weak so all I had to do was whisper into their ears and tell them what I needed them to do. Now that I am here I’ll be taking charge, I can’t allow to let this light to flourish.” He grabbed one of the light specks in the air and clenched his hand around it, it quickly died out and he let it drop to the ground.

“I won’t let you take control of this place.” Kudo snapped clenching his fist grass beginning to sprout and allowing the light to start to flair up.

The new boy took a step forward stepping on the newly developed green and it quickly died withering under his feet. Kudo’s body shook but he tried to collect himself but the darkness was already aware. “We will see about that, you are clearly unfit to rule such a place and your powers will weaken over time because once this light is gone you can’t provide life for your precious plants and thus you will have to be under my control. No one that shows will be able to defy me.”

“We will see about that.” he chuckled and began to walk away.

Soon Kudo was alone standing there… the light around him having a hard time staying around. The darkness came before the bearer of the light and he also lost his family. He knew that he was going to have a tough battle ahead of him and with any luck anyone else that came would join his team. He would allow the worlds that his brother created to be controlled by darkness. He couldn’t allow it.
first one is up. Have fun everyone.
